Champagne Twilight Walk 2017

We ordered perfect weather for this walk and Laurelle and Margo had the catering in hand. It was time for the walk and 34 members and 3 guests assembled at the rotunda in Moora Park, Shorncliffe. As we set off Margo provided a commentary on the architectural styles of some of the elegant houses overlooking Moreton Bay at Shorncliffe. After walking to the mouth of Cabbage Tree Creek and on to the Sandgate Yacht Club, we returned to Moora Park and down the steps to the foreshore to stroll along the new Shorncliffe Pier. The welcome-in ceremony for our activities for 2017 was toasted with a crisp bubbly as the waves lapped the seawall. The supper was appreciated by all and the caterers were happy to receive many credits. This was followed by a bit of frivolous fun with a select-your-prize raffle. A barometer to a successful event can be gauged by the volume of chatter and laughter and it was obvious that everyone had a great time. The leaders would like to thank everyone for assisting with the clean-up and packing the vehicles.
