Volunteer

Are you an upbeat nature-lover who is keen to give back and interested in sharing your skills and experience – or perhaps in gaining some new ones?

Volunteers have always played a significant role in helping NPAQ protect this beautiful state, and we couldn’t be more grateful they have! Much of our work relies on the goodwill and dedication of our members, supporters, and volunteers. You, too, can be a vital player in NPAQ’s vision for Queensland – and have fun doing it.

Choose from volunteering opportunities in:

Community engagement & connection. Encourage kids and community members to connect with national parks through our Junior Ranger, Cadet Ranger and Parks Connect programs and events (requires blue card). Email parksconnectprograms@npaq.org.au for more.

National park care & connection. Put your hand up to be a volunteer ranger or campground host in SEQ parks, taking some of the load off our rangers and sharing your natural history knowledge and outdoors skills with visitors and campers. Email parksconnectprograms@npaq.org.au for more.

Recreation activities. Plan, host or help with bushwalks, camps and other outdoor events (requires blue card). Email admin@npaq.org.au for more.

Conservation activities. Help organise, host or promote citizen science projects or community conservation projects (requires blue card). Email admin@npaq.org.au for more.

Education. Encourage schools and communities to learn more about protected areas with our Kids in Parks and Parks Connect suite of programs (requires blue card). Email parksconnectprograms@npaq.org.au for more.

Promotion/publicity. Are you a writer, photographer, influencer, blogger or business owner? Can you help promote our organisation’s goals and programs by donating your time to photographing, writing about, or sharing our programs over your social media channels? Email marketing@npaq.org.au for more.

Advocacy. Contribute to policy, campaigns, or member engagement. Email admin@npaq.org.au for more.

Research. Help unpack the data around protected areas, nature conservation, invasive species or threatening processes. Email admin@npaq.org.au for more.
