Thank you to those members who attended the AGM on Saturday 25 October 2025. The following members were successful in securing positions on NPAQ’s Council, and we’d like to welcome them to our organisation.

BEN RICHARDSON, Vice President
Ben brings two decades of board and executive experience across commercial and not-for-profit sectors, including serving as President of Football Queensland, where he led transformational change and modernised the organisation across a complex federated structure. A proud ‘adopted’ Queenslander, Ben believes we live in one of the best corners of the world and is honoured to serve on the NPAQ Council, with the hope of positively contributing to the vision to protect, connect, and expand nature conservation across the state.

CHRISTIAN BOWMAN, Councillor
Christian is an experienced leader in marketing, governance, and customer engagement with over 20 years across not-for-profit, higher education, and corporate sectors. As Head of Marketing & Digital at Animal Welfare League Qld, he holds a Master of Laws in Enterprise Governance from Bond University and has served on governance and ethics committees for RSPCA Queensland, Griffith University, and Bond University. Christian has delivered large-scale digital projects, managed significant marketing budgets, and driven initiatives that have transformed several organisations. Living amongst Springbrook National Park, he combines professional expertise with a strong personal commitment to conservation, aligning with NPAQ’s mission.
LIZ O’ROURKE, Councillor
Liz has most recently been working in ecotourism, growing the walking industry as Executive Officer of Great Walks of Australia – part of Tourism Australia’s Signature Experiences of Australia program.
She brings extensive business management and marketing expertise to NPAQ, developed over 25 years working in marketing, including running multiple marketing agencies and working with some of the world’s biggest music artists at various record labels.
She has a love of national parks, wilderness and conservation, which extends to working as Australia & NZ Territory Manager for Quiet Parks International, a not-for-profit dedicated to certifying and preserving quiet places of nature around the world.
Liz understands the immense value of Queensland’s natural assets and is gung-ho about working to protect, expand and celebrate our amazing parks.
