Araucaria Lookout

Amongst the border lookouts accessible from Binna Burra is Araucaria Lookout which provides grand views into the Woggunba (source of Daves Creek) and Numinbah Valleys. We will walk from the car park at Binna Burra initially taking the Border Track, then branching off onto the Mt Hobwee track and finally to Araucaria Lookout via Orchid Bower. Araucaria cunninghamii, commonly known as the Hoop Pine grows in the area. It is a 19 km return walk and we plan to have morning tea on the way and lunch at the lookout. The walk passes through mostly rainforest and some sclerophyll forest and heath. With luck we will return in time for coffee and afternoon tea at the Lamington Teahouse.
