Boondall Wetlands is Brisbane’s largest wetlands covering around 1150 hectares between Nudgee Beach and Shorncliffe. Walking along the boardwalk on the Billai dhagun Circuit will take us through a variety of vegetation types, including a she-oak forest. The boardwalk takes us to the birdhide at the junction of Nundah and Cabbage Tree creeks. This viewing point should afford an opportunity to spot waterbirds taking advantage of this section of the creeks. Adjacent to the carpark is the Boondall Wetlands Environmental Centre. The Centre opens Sundays until 12MD so those of us interested will visit the Centre.
