Social Walk on Morelia and Atrax Tracks (CANCELLED)

The Manorina Section (D’Aguilar National Park) is right on our doorstep but is very seldom visited.  We will be doing the Morelia Track to Mount Nebo Lookout and the Atrax Circuit on our return. The area has both open eucalyptus forest and rainforest with Cabbage Tree Palm, Weeping Lillipilli, Sydney Blue Gum and a variety of other large trees.  The Atrax Circuit refers to the Funnel-web Spider family found in the area.  Given a clear day, we could see Moreton Island from Mount Nebo Lookout.  The climate at this elevation is usually cooler than in Brisbane which would be refreshing at this time of year.  As the walk is only 6 kilometres return (1.7 hours) and with only 125 metres climb, it is an easy walk.  We will have morning tea before we start the walk.  We will have lunch before we exit the park and there is the opportunity for a coffee stop before we head home. We will meet  at 10:00am at Manorina Section (D’Aguilar National Park), opposite house number 2283 Mount Nebo Road, Mount Nebo.  UBD Map 105 reference F16

Bring morning tea to have before the walk, bottle of water, sun screen, hat, folding chair and picnic lunch to carry in your backpack.
