Calling all Junior Rangers …

Play your way to being a Junior Ranger.

Your child will enjoy a wild adventure as Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and National Parks Association of Queensland team up to deliver this Parks Connect program!

Hosted from within some of South East Queensland’s favourite national parks and reserves or from the QPWS Gateway Visitor Centres – David Fleay Wildlife Park (Burleigh Heads) and Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre (Enoggera) – these fantastic Junior Ranger events teach kids all about Queensland’s unique wildlife and introduce them to some of the tasks performed by our dedicated Park Rangers. Encourage your little ‘wild child’ to get outside, connect with nature, and care for our environment while enjoying fun, hands-on and creative activities.

Choose from a range of fun events at QPWS Gateway Visitor Centres or within national parks.

JUNIOR RANGERS 8–12 YEARS AT WALKABOUT CREEK DISCOVERY CENTRE (Enoggera Reservoir)

Discover how to care for the local environment at this FREE Junior Ranger (ages 8–12) PLANT PATROL event at Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre.

Help your child ‘dig’ into conservation as they plant native tube stock and learn how revegetation supports regional ecosystems and reduces erosion. This hands-on experience teaches the importance of caring for our environment while working together outdoors.

We’ll be outside for this session, so wear a hat, sunscreen and enclosed shoes. Gloves are provided, but be mindful of your child’s activity tolerance for this session – it’s hard work, but rewarding.

BOOK ONLINE AT EVENTBRITE.

JUNIOR RANGERS 8–12 YEARS AT DAVID FLEAY WILDLIFE PARK (Burleigh Heads)

Discover the world of environmental restoration at this FREE Junior Ranger (ages 8–12) event – WEEDING WARRIORS – at David Fleay Wildlife Park.

Sign your little nature enthusiast up for this 1.5-hr Junior Ranger event at David Fleay Wildlife Park, Burleigh Heads, on Sunday 12 April.

This engaging, conservation-focused working bee will start with the help of a Maintenance Ranger to identify common weeds for removal. Junior Rangers will then help restore the habitat by planting native tube stock that supports healthy habitats and encourages local wildlife such as birds, butterflies and bees.

Bring a hat, enclosed shoes, and a willingness to branch out and try something new, as there is plenty of outdoor action. Gloves are provided. It is tough work, but the sense of achievement is truly unbe-‘leaf’-able.
