About the program
The Volunteer Ranger program trains and supports adult Queenslanders, equipping them with the relevant skills to engage with visitors and perform day-to-day activities that help our national parks thrive.
We provide the uniform, and you provide the enthusiasm, as you set about maintaining trails, managing visitor expectations, taking guided tours, and ensuring amenities and campsites are well-maintained. We’re currently working with QPWS to create and install a volunteer management system to ensure smooth deployment of our first crop of Volunteer Rangers. We hope to get our Volunteer Rangers fully inducted and out in parks soon.
Thanks to all of those who have applied for our Volunteer Ranger program. Our 2025 intake has closed as we work through selection and induction for the many enthusiastic volunteers who have made contact. We will let you know when our 2026 intake opens.
