Your child will enjoy a wild adventure as Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and National Parks Association of Queensland team up to deliver this Parks Connect program!
Hosted from within some of South East Queensland’s favourite National Parks and reserves or from the QPWS Gateway Visitor Centres – David Fleay Wildlife Park (Burleigh Heads) and Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre (Enoggera) – these fantastic Junior Ranger events teach kids all about Queensland’s unique wildlife and introduce them to some of the tasks performed by our dedicated Park Rangers.
Encourage your little ‘wild child’ to get outside, connect with nature, and care for our environment while enjoying fun, hands-on and creative activities.
JUNIOR RANGERS 8–12 YEARS AT WALKABOUT CREEK DISCOVERY CENTRE (Enoggera Reservoir)
Guided by Bec, from Bat Conservation and Rescue QLD Inc, your Junior Ranger will explore the physical and behavioural differences between flying foxes and microbats.
Get ready for some bat-tastic fun!
Your child will learn about Australia’s unique flying mammals at this FREE Junior Ranger (ages 8 to 12) BRILLIANT BATS event at Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre!
Your Junior Ranger will discover:

how important bats are for pollinating Queensland’s ecosystems

more about some epic echolocation skills

and the practical, everyday choices they can make at home to help protect Queensland’s bats.

Terms and Conditions
Junior Ranger activities at Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre and David Fleay Wildlife Park are child-only. Parents and siblings can explore the walking trails or the surroundings for the session. Children are supervised at all times by staff who hold Blue Cards for working with children. All children must wear appropriate covered shoes and sun-safe clothing, sunscreen, and a hat, and must bring a water bottle. Parents will be asked to review a safety briefing and sign a medical form and a media consent form upon booking. More T&C are included on the Eventbrite listing.
