Our first outing for 2022 will be to Toorbul to view the wader birds. High tide occurs around late-morning and the water should drive the birds up onto the foreshore for excellent viewing. Adjacent roads through bushland also allow viewing of bush birds and many kangaroos.

Bring: Hat, sunglasses, sunburn cream, personal first aid kit, enclosed shoes, wet weather protection, binoculars, camera, chair, insect repellent, soap, hand sanitizer, face mask, morning tea, lunch, and any other necessary personal items.

After exiting turn right onto Pumicestone Road, UBD Map 48 L1. Follow this road east to Freeman Rd at Toorbul township (Map 41 L18), turn left then turn right into The Esplanade. Keep the water on your left and follow this road south to its end. You should now be at UBD Map 51 Q 5. -27.046863, 153.108200
