Toohey Forest is 10km south of Brisbane CBD. It is a unique and large forest remnant of approximately 260 hectares. It has extensive walking tracks through open eucalyptus forest and heath. Over 75 species of birds have been recorded. Let’s see if we can find 76!!!!!
Meet: Forest Crescent off Don Young Road off University Road, Nathan UBD 200 M6, -27.5494453, 153.0612552
Directions: Driving from the north on the M3 get off at Exit 11. There is a sign Klumpp & Mains Road to follow. Once off the freeway, take the first right-hand turn, which passes under the freeway, and crosses over Mains Road and into University Road. At the first roundabout, on University Road, take the road towards Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery. There is a large sign promoting this building on University Road. This is Don Young Road. Continue to the end of this road. Forest Crescent is a cul-de-sac off this road.
After the walk, we will drive a couple of kilometers for morning tea and to access toilets.
There are no toilets at Forest Crescent.
