Priors Pocket is a finger shaped piece of land bounded by the Brisbane River. It was once farm land but pockets of original bushland remain. Several good sized lagoons attract a variety of water and wader birds. It is a birdwatching hotspot.
Directions: Travelling from the north side of Brisbane River, take Moggill Road towards the Moggill Ferry. At the roundabout (UBD 196 B16) just past Moggill State School, turn left onto Priors Pocket Road and follow the road to the end and park along each side of the road. (UBD 216 P9).
Travelling from the south side of the Brisbane River, along Ipswich Road going west, exit left at Redland Plaza (UBD 216 A10) and keep to the right lane. At the lights turn right and go under the highway (Mine Street). At the next roundabout turn left into Brisbane Road. Follow this road to the intersection of Endeavour Road (UBD 215 H7)and turn right into Moggill Ferry Road. Cross over on the ferry and continue along Moggill Road, turning right into Prior Pockets Road.
Bring: Binoculars, enclosed shoes, water and morning tea and lunch optional, sunscreen, repellant and a hat and chair.
