Description: Begin 2023 with an easy walk close to Brisbane. The walk will begin at Jollys Lookout and follow the Thylogale Track to Boombana then past the 300 year old Strangler Fig-tree to Mt Nebo Village via the Pitta Circuit. A pit stop at the Mt Nebo Cafe for coffee will refuel us for the return journey via the other leg of the Pitta Circuit through Boombana to Jollys Lookout. Here, the short Egernia Circuit beckons before returning to Jolly’s Lookout to enjoy the views over Dayboro Valley to the coast while enjoying lunch before the drive home.
The track is quite level with a couple of short, steeper sections and a few steps between Boombana and Mt Nebo Village. The total distance is approximately 13km.
The track passes through a variety of vegetation types including eucalypt and semi-tropical rainforest with patches of palms and ferns enhanced by the calls of the many birds in the area.
