Description: This day walk is composed of two shorter walks. Greenes Falls (4.5km return) and The Western Window Walk (Approx 3km return).
We’ll meet at the Maiala Picnic Area, Mt Glorious, for morning tea at 9am (Bring a chair in case there are no spare tables. Toilets are on site). Around 9.30am, we’ll head out through the rainforest and along boardwalks to Green Falls which are on the eastern side of Mt Glorious Road. The falls are quite substantial and should be flowing well from recent rains. On the return journey, we’ll take the Cypress Grove Track, slightly longer but closer to the creek from the way out with different vegetation.
Back at Maiala Picnic Area, we’ll have a break and enjoy lunch. After lunch, we’ll turn westwards and follow the track to the Western Window. This track basically parallels the Mt Glorious Road but on the western side, through the rainforest below the road level. At the end, there are excellent views, (as the name suggests) of the country west of Mt Glorious including Wivenhoe Dam.
Returning to our vehicles at Maiala, we’ll head home, stopping at the Mt Glorious Café for a coffee.
