What a perfect day for walking after the morning fog which had blanketed Brisbane, had lifted. The walkers were outnumbered by the two leaders! This proved a “challenge” for the leaders so one leader went with the nominated walker on the 10 kilometre walk Reservoir Break track while the other leader was happy to do the 5 kilometre Araucaria Track – solo. The track had been recently mown and apart from the usual erosion on the steeper sections, the track was in good condition. A couple of other walkers were encountered along the track, otherwise we had the reserve to ourselves. As we had an interest in bush regeneration, we took the opportunity to identify weed species either side of the track and added the banana tree to our list. After completing the walks, we met up at the canoe launching area for lunch. Perfect! The leaders would like to thank John for supporting the walk and we hope to do it again later in the year.
