The Vegetation Management Group is a monthly volunteer-based project to remove lantana and weeds in the Boombana and Jollys Lookout sections of D’Aguilar National Park, west of Brisbane. (click here for locality map)
Originally started by Honorary Protector Les Weller in 1986, and with the support of QPWS, the project has been managed by NPAQ since 1990.
In 1995, the NPAQ Vegetation Management Group was awarded the John Herbert Award by the National Trust for Excellence in Heritage Conservation Works or Action.

When & Where to meet: 9am – Jolly’s Lookout Lower Car Park, Mt Nebo Road, D’Aguilar National Park.
Directions: Take the Mt Nebo-Mt Glorious Rd through The Gap, to Jolly’s Lookout lower car park.
Jolly’s Lookout is approx. 15km (18mins) drive past Walkabout Creek Visitor Centre.
What to bring: Gloves, protective clothing, eye protection, insect repellent, sunscreen, water, morning tea, and lunch.
