Birdwatching – 2023-10-15 Mungarra Reserve, Petrie

Mungarra Reserve is on the north bank of the North Pine River, Petrie. Many tracks meander throughout this park giving access to river views, woodlands, and open areas. Toilets are situated at the park’s entrance.

Directions: – Coming from the south along Gympie Road through Strathpine and Lawnton, cross the North Pine River. At the old Petrie roundabout, now traffic lights, (UBD map 98 L3) take the first left onto Dayboro Road. Follow Dayboro Rd (approx. 1.4 klm) and at the next roundabout (UBD map 98 G1) take the first exit into Andrew Petrie Drive. Then first exit left into Affleck Ave. Follow Affleck Ave through to the park’s entrance (UBD map 98 D3). If the park’s gates are open continue to the parking area at the end of the road.

Bring: – Hat, sunglasses, sunburn cream, personal first aid kit, enclosed shoes, binoculars, camera, chair, insect repellent, soap, hand sanitizer, face mask, morning tea, lunch, and any other necessary personal items.
