Birdwatching – 2020 – Riverdale Park, Meadowbrook – 21th June

Riverdale Park is bounded by the Logan River, Slacks Creek and the Logan Motorway. Riverdale Park covers a large flood plain. There is a small lagoon where we may see some water birds. There are paved tracks running along the Logan River and throughout the park. Also grassed walking tracks. There are toilets and shelter sheds available.

7.30 am at the carpark end of Armstrong Road UBD 263 A1 in Riverdale Park.

This activity will be conducted in keeping with current Covid-19 health department guidelines regarding social distancing and good hygiene practices. Be aware that, if you are over 70 (over 50 for people of indigenous background), and/or have co-morbidities, you are at greater risk of Covid-19. If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend this activity.”

Directions: From the North heading south on the M1 take exit 24 signed Winnetts Rd, Loganlea Rd. Follow Loganlea Rd keep in the left lane and stay in the left lane along Loglanlea Rd. Follow the signs to Logan Hospital along Loganlea Rd. Follow the Hospital signs turning left into Armstrong Rd and continue along Armstrong Rd which leads into Riverdale Park. Follow the road through Riverdale Park to the carpark at the end of the road.

Bring: Hat, sunglasses, personal first aid kit, enclosed shoes, binoculars, camera, chair, insect repellent, soap, hand sanitizer, morning tea, lunch (optional), and any other necessary personal items.
