BIRDWATCHING –2021- JOHN OXLEY RESERVE, MURRUMBA DOWNS 21st February 2021

We will walk the pathways of John Oxley Reserve down to the bank of the Pine River. Next, we will visit Black Duck Lagoon, now signposted as Castle Hill Lakes Reserve, (USB Map 89 K19) . We will then drive to Osprey House (UBD Map 100 C6) and another lagoon with a newly constructed bird hide.

Directions: – Travelling north on the Bruce Highway, M1, first exit after the Pine River at EXIT 130 to Dohles Rocks Rd. Turn left and drive west on Dohles Rock Road to Ogg Road (USB Map 99 F1). South bound on the Bruce Highway exit at EXIT 133 at Northlakes, turn right over the Bruce Highway and follow your UBD. (UBD Map 99 F1). GPS co-ordinates 27°15’59.5″S 153°00’16.9″E

Bring: Hat, sunglasses, sunburn cream, personal first aid kit, enclosed shoes, binoculars, camera, chair, insect repellent, soap, hand sanitizer, face mask, morning tea, lunch, and any other necessary personal items.

This activity will be conducted in keeping with health department Covid-19 directions regarding social distancing, good hygiene practices and group size in force for the venue/area at the time of the activity. It may be necessary for the leader to make changes to the activity, the number of participants or the venue in keeping with these directions.

Please do not attend this activity if you are feeling unwell on the day, or may have had contact with covid-19 in the 14 days prior to the activity.
