Activity Report

Ten people met at the Wolston Creek Bushland Reserve, Riverhills on a perfect cloudless morning. Due to no person having a current First Aid Certificate this activity was classed as a private walk. A car shuttle transported participants to the start of the walk along the bank of Wolston Creek. The creek was followed to the junction of the Brisbane River. Following this long walk, morning tea and lunch were enjoyed overlooking the Brisbane River. 51 bird species were sighted and 3 birds were heard.

Meet at 7.30am at the end of Sumners Road UBD 196 M12 where there is a park and toilet facilities.  We will arrange a car shuttle to the commencement of the walk in Tomkins Road UBD 197 D12. We will be following Wolston Creek leading to the Brisbane River. This is a well vegetated area with a variety of habitats.  The grass track winds along the north bank of Wolston Creek to its junction with the Brisbane River.   At the completion of the walk in Sumners Road, we will have morning tea at the park overlooking the Brisbane River.

Bring: Hat, sunglasses, sunburn cream, personal first aid kit, enclosed shoes, binoculars, camera, chair, insect repellent, soap, hand sanitizer, face mask, morning tea, lunch, and any other necessary personal items.

This activity will be conducted in keeping with health department COVID-19 directions regarding social distancing, good hygiene practices and group size in force for the venue/area at the time of the activity.  Please do not attend this activity if you are feeling unwell on the day or may have had contact with Covid-19 in the 14 days prior to the activity.
