One of the specialist activity groups is the birdwatching outings. This is an active group of members which has a number of outings each year as shown in the calendar, conducted under the umbrella of the Outings Committee.The walks are either arranged by a leader as a separate meet or conducted in conjunction with a general bushwalking outing. The venues selected are generally to places of special interest where there is a variety of birds to observe. A list of sightings is recorded for each outing.

Riverdale Park is bounded by the Logan River, Slacks Creek and the Logan Motorway. Riverdale Park covers a large flood plain. There is a small lagoon where we may see some water birds.
